Bail in Decoity case in Day Light Loot near Cannaught Place Delhi: Ravi Drall Advocate
Delhi Patiala House Sessions Judge granted bail in a case of day light looting Rs. 14.50 lacs at point of pistol near Cannaught Place, Delhi.
Advocate Ravi Drall appeared for accused and argued passionately that his client had been wrongly arrested based on the assumption that he was friends with the co-accused individuals involved in the crime. He vehemently asserted that the accused was actually in his Village Khera at the time of the incident, which was a significant distance of 30 km away from the scene. He backed up his claims with solid evidence, presenting CCTV footage that clearly showed the accused’s presence in his village during the alleged time of the crime. Drall emphasized the importance of preserving the Call Detail Records (CDR) to further prove the accused’s whereabouts.
Furthermore, Drall pointed out that even if one were to entertain the prosecution’s version of events, the provisions of Section 397 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) that carried a potential life sentence were not applicable to his client. He highlighted the fact that no Test Identification Parade (TIP) had been conducted to verify if the accused was in possession of the weapon allegedly used in the crime, raising doubts about the integrity of the evidence against his client.
The Assistant Public Prosecutor (APP) representing the state vehemently opposed Drall’s bail application, arguing that the gravity of the offense and the accused’s alleged involvement in another murder case should be taken into consideration when evaluating the bail request. The APP painted a grim picture of the accused, portraying him as a dangerous individual with a history of violence.
Despite the strong opposition from the state, Drall remained steadfast in his defense of the accused. He eloquently presented his arguments, dissecting the prosecution’s case and highlighting the lack of concrete evidence tying his client to the crime in question. With his persuasive advocacy skills and meticulous attention to detail, Drall successfully convinced the court to grant bail to the accused.
